How To Make A Glaze From Acrylic Paint
Up until last October, I wasn't a big glazed furniture kind of gal.
Glazed donut kind of gal…abso-freakin-lutely….glazed article of furniture…not so much.
But and so this happened.
That would be the IKEA Tarva drink bar that I used Baroque and Enhance Dark Glaze on.
At that point, dark glaze and I started to become friends.
We experimented. We plotted makeovers.
We worked together on a dresser…
That's the glamorous dresser….
Nighttime glaze and I were skipping happily forth off into the sunset….
And so I met clear coat….
And he swept me off my anxiety….considering he can turn any color into a glaze….
Disclosure: This post is a collaboration with Velvet Finishes. All opinions and references to having an affair with furniture glazes are 100% mine. This post contains chapter links for your shopping convenience. Click here to read my total disclosure policy.
Before you ask me, no I was not drinking during the writing of this post. That's shocking, I know, particularly seeing how I but wrote about having a love thing with furniture glaze paint and then cheating on it with some other ane.
I'm a special person.
Merely…
Its truthful.
You can make article of furniture glaze in any color – I like to call information technology color glaze.
And its so easy.
How To Make Article of furniture Glaze In Any Color
Supplies Needed:
- Velvet Finishes Enhance Clear Glaze
- Any Velvet Finishes paint color of your choice
- Paintbrush
- Lint free cloth
Steps
Pace 1.
Combine a petty clear glaze with a trivial paint.
I mixed mine upward on a styrofoam plate to prove you the process better, merely it would be easier to apply a cup. You want more glaze than you do paint. I poured out about 1/eight – ane/4 of a cup of glaze and just dipped my paintbrush into the paint.
Step 2.
Mix it together.
Simply mix the 2 together until all the glaze is tinted with your colour.
Footstep iii.
Brush it on.
Castor the glaze on, let information technology sit for a infinitesimal or so, and so wipe off the excess with a lint free cloth. Echo this process if you would like more color on your piece.
The video below shows a turquoise colored coat being made and and so painted onto a piece painted white to get a beachy colored vibe.
Step 4.
Bask in the new-found possibilities.
The Modern glaze has a great beachy vibe. I call back information technology would look great "washed" over white patio furniture if you are into that beachy wait.
I was planning to use the modern coat above on an actual piece of furniture, but got so excited nearly all the color possibilities, I but pulled out more than pigment and started making glazes in all different colors to bear witness yous.
A.1000.A. my ADHD took over.
I love the Glamorous glaze – I think information technology would be so fun in a niggling girl's room. Enchanting glaze is bright and seems very boyish.
The Vivid glaze reminds me of faded lipstick – which I like the look of – I know – I'one thousand weird. The Exotic glaze is pretty calorie-free – I think it has a beachy experience too.
I'm dying to try these glazes out on some glass jars too.
What do you recollect they would exist practiced for?
